那天，和几个朋友吃饭时，遇到了一件很尴尬的事。我们约在一个餐馆见面，我提前到了，边喝着茶边等另外几个女伴，很快小玉就带着她的男朋友到了，我急忙起身招呼，因为此前曾见过他们一面，印象是很般配的一对情侣。但我热烈的表情和欢迎的姿态瞬间却凝滞住了，大脑里突然一片空白——因为我完全想不起来小玉男朋友的名字，只隐约记得似乎是一个很普遍的姓氏，张、王或许是李，但我不确定，不敢贸然张口。

其实，以前一说到自我介绍，我们只会想到应聘、谈判、演讲……却往往忽略了在社交场合中，可能会遇到面熟而一下子想不起姓名的人，这个时候如果能够善解人意地进行主动自我介绍，往往会为自己增添个人魅力。
自我介绍，作为社交活动中给人的第一印象，常会产生“首轮效应”，它往往会产生微妙的影响。一次漂亮的自我介绍，往往能够成为与人有效沟通的桥梁，我们对一个人的好感、好印象，常常是从他时机恰当、大方得体的自我介绍开始的，不管新朋友、新同事还是新客户皆是如此。尽管如此重要，我们有时还是会忽略自我介绍的语言技巧，心里难免会认为：介绍别人我可能还需要琢磨，介绍自己应该是出口成章，我难道还能不了解自己吗？
其实，很多不得当、不精彩的自我介绍，恰恰是你因为不了解自己，导致介绍内容错误，介绍的时机、内容和形式差强人意。因此好的自我介绍，是需要一些技巧来辅助完成的。什么时候需要自我介绍呢？我们所熟知的，包括应聘新工作、开会发言、商业谈判、演讲辩论、参加聚会等等。什么场合需要自我介绍呢？一般是有陌生人在场，介绍自己方便大家的认识；或者在大型的比较正式的场合，介绍自己以显示对这个活动的重视和尊重；另外一种场合，就是我的小故事中讲的当别人忘记自己姓名的时候，及时的自我介绍是一种体贴和友好的态度。自我介绍的场合要视情形而定，如果都是熟人，十分熟悉的会议，当然不需要自我介绍了。
关于介绍的顺序，在聚会中，主人一般会先做自我介绍，因为他是整个聚会的焦点，有必要让大家先了解一下。其他场合的自我介绍，需遵循一个原则：地位低的人应先做介绍，以便让地位高的人了解自己。也就是，相对年轻的人，要主动向别人介绍自己，接下来长者再做自我介绍的回应。当然，在实际交往中，若你的地位比较高，但对方不太懂得礼仪，先介绍自己也无妨，这样可以避免尴尬。
还有，就是自我介绍的内容。如果是一些比较正式的应聘和谈判场合，介绍的内容要尽可能简洁全面，挑选对方最感兴趣、最想了解的内容作为口头介绍，较为复杂的内容可以借助书面的表达，因为内容过多，会使听者感到疲惫乏味，毕竟自我介绍是一个礼节，其他人要用很认真的姿态聆听，所以尽量使你的语言简洁、内容全面。另外，递送名片给对方时，名片上有的内容就不需要重复口头介绍了，养成长话短说的自我介绍习惯，时间以半分钟到一分钟为宜。如果是一些私人聚会或者偶尔碰面，你要区分一下情况，双方若只是偶然碰到，礼节性打个招呼即可，没有必要详细介绍，对方也许是着急离开或者是以后也很难再见，过于详尽的介绍就等于浪费彼此时间。若是对方有兴趣深交，他会表露出交往的意愿，并且会主动提问“在哪里高就”“您是从事什么职业”等等，这时候再进行详细介绍也不迟。
最后，说一下结束语。介绍完自己的简单情况，一定要说一句“很高兴在这个场合结识诸位”之类的结束语，它有两层含义，一是表达希望结识对方的愉快心情，二是给对方一个暗示：我已经介绍完我自己了，你们可以说话了。因此，一个完整而漂亮的自我介绍，至少必备两个内容，自己的姓名和结束语。
自我介绍很重要，有时，它是你自由驰骋在社交场合的一张漂亮的通行证。不妨现在开始注意这一点吧。
