good morning, everyone! i`m very happy to have this chance to give my presentation. before i start my speech, please let me ask you a question. do you think you are confident in yourself? if you are, do please raise your hand.
my topic today is “ to be a confident person.”
what is confidence? confidence is to trust yourself. confidence is to look upon yourself. it is not to indulge in self-admiration. it is not to get extremely arrogant. it is not to get dizzy with success or to be opinionated. it is just to inspire yourself ahead of a quality of mind, in high spirit, full of energy. it is to meet the challenges of life in a positive mood. it is to overcome your inferiority, farewell, to get rid of the trouble of a a ready-made panacea.
remember, i have just entered junior high school. in the face of the challenge of new environment, in the face of so many new courses and learning contents, i lost faith in my own and gradually developed a psychological sense of inferiority. achievement glided ceaselessly. it is a teacher and mother who encouraged me and let me regain confidence. gradually, my grades got higher and higher and everything began to go on well. gradually i adapted to the life in middle school.
friends, let's say goodbye to inferiority. let’s be a confident person. because: only if you have self-confidence, can you control yourself; only if you have confidence, can you achieve success and create your a brilliant life of your own!

there is a way. you don’t have to be born with self-confidence. self-confidence can grow and flourish and ripen and blossom until you actually come to feel as though there is a different person inside of you. here are some insights that might facilitate the quest.
learn what a self-confident person is really like. they are not cocky, know-it-all people who don’t care what anybody else thinks. they have their doubts. and make mistakes. and are far from perfect. however, they are willing to acknowledge their inadequacies without dwelling on them. they do this by maintaining a sense of humor, putting problems in perspective, and focusing mainly on what they’ve done right, not wrong.
though self-confident people do believe in themselves, they don’t try to suffocate others with their ideas or beliefs. they are confident in what they know not only because they read, learn and think but also because they respect their instinct, intuition and the unique body of knowledge that they’ve developed by living life. they realize that one doesn't have to be labeled an “expert” to believe in one's own truths.
self-confident people don’t undermine their own worth by comparing themselves with others, only to conclude that they aren’t “good enough”. they appreciate their strengths and accomplishments and can acknowledge, without embarrassment, their weaknesses. they don’t live in the “victim” position. even if something really bad has occurred, they turn it into a challenge, remembering to be grateful for the little things in life.
self-confident people let the world know who they are. if they want something badly enough, they know they have every right to “go for it.” yet, they also know that the path will rarely be easy. mistakes, blunders and failures are part of the learning process. they seek to learn from their mistakes and do not waste time torturing themselves over what “could have been”.
self-confident people are not obstinate people. if they have an idea about something and it differs from the way another person is thinking about it, they will usually try to look at it from that person’s point of view, see why it makes sense to them. yet, a confident person’s sense of self is grounded. it does not blow in the wind. their ideas do not fluctuate based on what others deem are important.
i hope these insights are helpful to you. if so, perhaps one day you will be able to say what the actress phyllis rashad once said, simply but eloquently, ” i am just myself and who i am is a lot.”

good afternoon, honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, the title of my speech is defeat makes me more confident.
most people may think that defeat is a kind of obstacle that prevents you from being successful. quite the contrary, i believe defeat makes me more confident.
as you may know, if you can not be an excellent loser you will never win. everything in my life always shows both my advantages and disadvantages. i have been entering a lot of contests. i don’t care about the results, but feel it is more important to learn something during the process. after i failed in the contests each time, the judges always gave me useful comments and suggestion addressing my shortcomings and helped me improve myself step by step. so, now i am more self-confident to face any challenges and believe i will be the final winner in my life.
i received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. i applied to be a host in our student acting troupe and felt confident that i would be accepted. but one of the panel members told me: "you seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." my life has never been the same since. i used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence. but no matter how hard i tried to look the part, there was still something missing.
as president of english club, i organized the rehearsal of snow white for an english party. unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. it had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in english. suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and i knew i would have to be the dwarf. to my great surprise and delight, once on stage, i was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use. as the dwarf, i was a big hit.
yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.
a world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. the real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.
given a choice, i would rather be ugly than live in such a world. i'd rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a snow white than be a snow white among nothing but snow whites. i would rather be myself. i would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. please, be yourself.
ladies and gentlemen, good morning!i’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.the title of my speech today is : confidence.
confidence is half of success.first of all i would like to ask: what is the self-confidence?self-confidence is a kind of self evaluation caused by the self affirmation and expect others, collective and society with respect to the positive emotion tendency.
self confidence is to overcome the difficulties and achieve your dreams the most important factors of success.confidence can rescue people in distress, can make people see in the dark’s success, can be assigned to one of the power struggle.it can be said:self-confidence,will have the half success.the same two people who work hard, confident people when working in association with a more relaxed way, when done a good job, will think that this is because of his strength, and those who lack self-confidence is attributed his success to good luck.
so,how to beconfident?we first have a look confident people’s performance:they often have a full understanding, acceptance, foster strengths and circumvent weaknesses;confident people aim high;confident people based on reality.
but that alone is not enough self-confidence, but also strive, with these two points, even if you don’t want to success, success will come to you.
wish you have self-confidence, success!
the end of my speech, thank you!
founder of success napoleon hill said: "the self-confidence, manage human use and the only channel universe, infinite intelligence is all the 'miracle' of the foundation of all scientific laws can not be the birthplace of the mystery of miracles . "he also said that such a thought-provoking words:" if we analyze the personality of those outstanding figures, you will see they have a common characteristic: they start work before, always fully believe in themselves the ability to remove all difficulties and obstacles, until victory! "
indeed, in large part to promote confidence in a person's success, many people start from the history we are all evident. confident people from distress to rescue, you can see the successful people in the dark light, can give people the power struggle. perhaps you could say: "with confidence, you have half the success."
work the same two people, self-confidence of people at work in a more relaxed when the association of the way through: dang good job done, we will consider it for our own strength, in the event shizaiwufa completed the task, then that might be really difficult task in itself. the lack of self-confidence of people will bring success to good luck, the ability to not fail as their own home. however, as this little psychological difference, although the two spent time and energy are similar, but often more self-confident side of the gain is much greater.
how many scientists at home and abroad, especially inventors, which is not tackled on his own confidence in what the project? will fail again and again again and again aroused their fighting spirit - they think: the more failures, the more successful near distance. but confidence is not an innocent person will be attached to the body, first of all who have genuine talent, then can there be real self-confidence, and use it as an extremely useful power. empty full of confidence, it would only say it is presumptuous bale. this so-called "confidence", not only failed to promote human progress, but unfriendly.
king of the hill network commentator said: "there is no real thing, only the confidence, the future is only one - dead, and done for." this sentence sounds excessive, but in fact the only self-confidence if it is indeed a very dangerous.
similarly, in our study, only self-confidence is not enough, self-confidence and efforts should be organically combined. some students often see the occasion of the examination, not the least bit nervous, confidently into the examination room. however, after examination, this part of the students in some scores of deadly accuracy, and some fraction is ashamed to see people. this seems unreasonable thing is very simple: this part is both a kind of self-confidence in students, but also hard to study hard; a single self-confidence, but did not pay the effort. these two types of students are full of confidence seems to examination, but usually not the same as the accumulation of knowledge, different consequences.
so, we life, you should do first one full of classics, before a confident person. because confidence is just a void of power, want to be successful, you have to give confidence to attach to "hard work" on the burning of the mechanical self-confidence, so confidence should force it to play out.
many people yearn to be more self-confident. yet they have no idea how to achieve that objective. they look at others who have the gift and say, “hey that’s what i want. i hate feeling unsure of myself. i wish i could stop obsessing about what others think of me and quit worrying about disappointing other people. i want to stop anguishing over my decisions and torturing myself about my mistakes. i think it would be so great to feel self-assured, hold my head up high and stand tall. i’ve never been self-confident. i wish there were a way i could be.”
there is a way. you don’t have to be born with self-confidence. self-confidence can grow and flourish and ripen and blossom until you actually come to feel as though there is a different person inside of you. here are some insights that might facilitate the quest.

the importance of confidence
whatever one does, one should do it with confidence. if one has no confidence, there is little possibility that one would ever achieve anything, especially when one is faced with drawbacks or hardships. this truth seems to be evident. however, in reality we do see a lot of people who complain that they like the ability to do something or that their difficulties are too great to be overcome. for someone, this might be true. but for many others, this only shows that they have lost heart.
why do people often feel frustrated even though they are capable of doing something? there are, among others, two main reasons. first, these people do have a correct estimate of themselves. second, they overestimate the difficulties.
it is possible to build up faith in oneself by having the right attitude towards one’s abilities. we should never underestimate one’s abilities. but believe in the proverb: “where there is a will, there is a way.” confidence is the promise for fulfilling a task successfully.
